The Lutheran Women's Missionary League (LWML) gives each woman an opportunity to learn more about her Savior. It shows her ways to share her faith with others. It gives her materials to make her study of the Bible more meaningful.
The LWML gives her a chance to be a leader and have many opportunities for service to others. It aids her in developing her God given gifts that she may use them in ministry to the people of the world.
The LMWL gives to each woman fellowship with other Christian women: women who share the same love for the Savior who shed His blood that they may live forever in eternity. It gives a bonding to others that many in the world wish they had.
The LWML invites her to save her mites (Luke 21:1-4) and perform the work of the district and national LWML. Tens of missions of dollars have been given in mission grants since the League began in 1942. These millions are all due to the pennies, dimes and dollars that have been collected in the little Mite Boxes.
LWML encourages Young Women in their midst. Every effort is made for child care and timely studies and activities. Teens also are invited to gather in groups for Bible study, fellowship and servant activities. Children are encouraged to fill their Children's Mite Boxes and learn about missions.
The work of the LWML happens individually, in societies, in zones, in districts and nationally. Inspiring conventions with mission speakers, Bible study and fellowship occur annually. The Central Illinois District LWML convention will take place in Peoria on June 7, 2008. It will convene at the Holiday Inn City Center, 500 Hamilton Blvd. at 9:00 A.M. Pre-convention activities will begin at 3:00 P.M. on June 6, 2008 at Bethe
Lutheran Church,425 N Missouri Ave. in Morton.
